After months of negotiations between the BCCI, ICC, and the PCB, the Champions Trophy 2025 is finally set to take place in a hybrid format. This means that the matches featuring India will be hosted in Dubai, while the remaining games will be hosted in Pakistan.
This announcement comes a month after the original deadline, but now that the deadlock has been resolved, the PCB, ICC, and other stakeholders are moving swiftly and have released the schedule.
The ODI tournament will commence with New Zealand taking on the hosts Pakistan on February 19 in Karachi and will conclude on March 9 in either Lahore or Dubai depending on whether India qualifies for the final. With all the tussle between the BCCI and PCB for the Champions Trophy, the high-octane India-Pakistan clash has gained even more weight. It will be played on February 23 in Dubai.
The eight qualifying teams have been divided into two groups.
Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
Group B: Australia, South Africa, England, Afghanistan
Each team will play every other team in their group once, and the top two from each group will advance to the knockout stage.
The semi-finals are scheduled on March 4 and 5 and will be held in Dubai and Lahore.
